European VLBI Network (EVN)

Observing proposals are invited for the European VLBI Network (EVN). The EVN is a Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) network that provides sub-milliarcsecond angular resolution and is operated by an international consortium of institutes. The Korean VLBI Network (KVN) also participates in the EVN as an associated member. Proposals may include joint e-MERLIN and/or global VLBI observations with NRAO/GBO telescopes. The EVN facility is open to all astronomers, but PIs and co-Is affiliated with institutes in the Russian Federation or Belarus are currently restricted from access. Astronomers with limited or no VLBI experience are particularly encouraged to apply for observing time. Student proposals are favourably judged and encouraged.

* Frequency band: 0.3GHz(92cm), 0.6GHz(49cm), 1.0GHz(30cm), 1.4GHz(21cm), 1.7GHz(18cm), 2.3GHz(13cm), 5GHz(6cm), 6GHz(5cm), 8.3GHz(3.6cm), 23.1GHz(1.3cm), 42.9GHz(0.7cm)

* Maximum angular resolution: ~20 milli-arcseconds at 0.3 GHz band, ~0.15 milli-arcseconds at 42.9GHz band 

* Recording rate (bandwidth): mostly 2Gbps (512MHz BW), up to 4Gbps (1GHz BW), depending on the frequency band.
