Announcement of 12th Korea Astronomy Machine Learning meeting - “From “Data to Discovery”
Date: Monday March 30, 2026
Location: LWC 102, 한국천문연구원, 대전
Website: https://sites.google.com/view/spring-kaml-2026/home
We are pleased to announce a one-day discussion meeting, “From Data to Discovery” the 12th Korea Astronomy Machine Learning Meeting, being held at KASI. As in the past eleven KAML meetings, this will be a venue for astrophysicists and cosmologists in Korea to exchange ideas and formulate new projects by harnessing the power of Machine Learning. Even if you have not attended any of the previous meetings, you are still very welcome to attend and participate!
This meeting is intended to benefit anyone who wants to learn how to apply machine learning techniques to large astronomical data sets. The main theme of discussion will be the interpretation and validation of machine learning. AI is the optimal tool for data science, but the goal of astrophysics is understanding the underlying principles of the natural world, and the different aims of the two may lead to a conflict. There will also be summaries of the LSST strong lensing challenge, and transient alerts from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory.
You can register using the Registration form on the website. There is no registration fee to attend this meeting. Lunch will be provided at the venue if you choose the lunch option during registration. There will be no online access, and so all participants must attend in person. If you want to give a contributed talk, please let us know during registration.
Looking foward to seeing you in Daejeon.
Scientific Organizing Committee:
