============================================= Dear (Potential) Fast Turnaround Users, Gemini North and South are accepting FT proposals and the deadline is at 12:00 (NOON) Hawaiian Standard Time on February 28, 2026. Accepted proposals will be active in the queue 1 Apr - 30 June 2026. Make sure to check the Call for Proposals and the 26A GN/GS instrument schedules. We are offering GHOST, GMOS-S, Zorro, and F2 at GS. At GN, we are offering GNIRS, including the ShortRed camera in Shared Risk mode, along with IGRINS-2, GMOS-N, Alopeke, and MAROON-X. Many of these instruments are block scheduled so please consult the instrument schedules for detailed availability or email the FT team with any questions. Be aware that there will be an engineering telescope shutdown for part of June at Gemini North. This is the third call for 26A. Note that some partners have only a small amount of time available. Be sure to check the CfP for details and proposal time request limits. As a reminder, we are using a Dual Anonymous Review Process (DARP). The detailed guidelines, which will be enforced, can be found on the FT web pages and also in the Call for Proposals. Please note that specific Fast Turnaround proposal templates are REQUIRED for FT proposals (GemPhase1_FT_dual). Proposals using a different template will be rejected. The 2026A PIT must be used. The FT program has been used to conduct pilot studies or stand-alone science projects, complete data sets, and follow up newly-discovered objects, although we welcome proposals for any kind of project with scientific value. For more details about the FT program including the latest Call for Proposals, please visit the FT web page (https://www.gemini.edu/observing/phase-i/ft). Best regards, Gemini Fast Turnaround Support Team |
