1. Call for Proposals 2014B
The Korean VLBI Network (KVN, http://kvn.kasi.re.kr/ ) invites proposals from the East Asian astronomical community (China, Japan, Taiwan and Korea) for observations during the 2014B season. Observations will be scheduled between 2014 August 15 and 2015 January 15. Proposals should be emailed to kvnprop@kasi.re.kr before the deadline of UT 08:00 (KST 17:00) on 2014 June 16.
2. Korean VLBI Network (KVN)
The Korean VLBI Network (KVN) is the first dedicated mm-VLBI network in East Asia, built and operated by Korean Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI, http://www.kasi.re.kr). Three 21m radio telescopes are located in Seoul, Ulsan and Jeju island on the Korean Peninsula with baseline lengths of 305-476 km. The KVN 4-channel receiving system allows simultaneous observations at 22, 43, 86, and 129 GHz. For the 2014B season, 22 and 43 GHz are available, but a risk sharing observations would be possible for 86 and 129 GHz.
Details of the information and observing capabilities about the KVN can be found in the KVN VLBI Status Report.
3. Important notes for 2014B
1) Deadline: UT 08:00 (KST 17:00) on 2014 June 16.
2) The available frequency bands are mainly 22 and 43 GHz, but 86 and 129 GHz are also available on a shared risk basis.
3) The total available time is expected to be ~ 300 hours.
4. Proposal Preparation and Submission
The proposer should consult the webpage from here. All proposals must be prepared using the KVN VLBI proposal form and submitted to kvnprop@kasi.re.kr.
5. Further Information
General information can be found in the http://kvn.kasi.re.kr/ including user support. Following email accounts are available for proposals, observations and any other questions.
- kvnprop@kasi.re.kr : proposal submission and informing its result
- kvnobs@kasi.re.kr : observing schedule submission, observation related requests and questions for the accepted proposal only.
