Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position in Astrophysics and Cosmology

The School of Physics of the Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) invites applicants for research fellow positions in the field of astrophysics and cosmology. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in astronomy or a related field, and should have demonstrated exceptional research potential in their fields. The successful applicants will work with the members of KIAS astrophysics group on analytical, observational, and numerical studies in astrophysics and cosmology. The research topic includes galaxy formation, large scale structure, peculiar velocity field, and the cosmic microwave background radiation (http://astro.kias.re.kr/). Appointments can start from September 1, 2014, but the starting date is negotiable. The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of renewal for two additional years.

For research fellows, the annual income starts from 45,000,000 Korean Won (approximately US$41,800 at the current exchange rate) and an additional research fund of 13,000,000 Korean Won (US$12,000) will be provided each year. The initial appointment for the position is for two years and is renewable for up to two years, depending on research performance.
