Workshop on Stars, Planets, and Life : Current Issues on Stellar Astronomy In Honor of Professor Sang-Gak Lee's Retirement
Prof.Sang-Gak Lee has been a pioneer in the modern history of Korean astronomy. She has been working on stellar spectroscopy and photometry for three decades. Also she has been a role model of women scientists.
She is going to retire February 2013. The field of stellar astronomy has a long history and it has been expanded to two extremes recently:
one to find the origin of life in very nearby stars with exoplanets, and the other to find the first stars formed in the beginning of the universe.
We would like to honor her retirement with a workshop to be held at the Seoul National University from Feb 21 to 22, 2013. In this workshop, current issues on stars, planets, and life will be presented and discussed in honor of the retirement of Prof.Sang-Gak Lee.
