Next Generation Supercomputing Workshop on GPU Applications to Astrophysical Problems 장소: 국가수리과학연구소 (National Institute for Mathematical Problems) 일시: 2010년 12월 8일~10일 주관: 국가수리과학연구소, 고등과학원 이 워크샵은 차세대 슈퍼컴퓨팅자원으로 주목받고 있는 GPU (Graphic Processor Unit)를 천문학·천체물리학의 여러 문제 해결에 응용한 사례와 방법을 논의하고 국내외 GPU 컴퓨팅에 관한 정보를 교류하기 위해 마련되었습니다. 이를 위해 국내외 GPU 계산 및 GPU 클러스터를 구축한 전문가들을 초청하여 구상성단 및 은하중심부의 역학적 진화와, 우주론 시뮬레이션 그리고 SKA의 자료분석과 GPU Cluster를 구축한 사례에 대한 강연을 준비하였습니다. 또한 GPU 프로그래밍을 시작할 수 있도록 두 시간에 걸친 CUDA 전문가의 튜토리얼도 마련하였습니다. GPU를 이용하여 저비용 고성능계산자원을 구축하실 계획을 가지셨거나 이를 이용한 병렬컴퓨팅을 계획하고 계신 분들께서 많은 관심을 가져주시고 참여해주시면 감사하겠습니다. This workshop focuses on how to handle astrophysical problems that requires very massive computing resources. Recently, thanks to advanced technology of computer engineering, high performance computing methods and devices such as GPU and CUDA haven drawn much attention in many research fields. The program includes tutorials for CUDA and invited talks from world leading experts from various field of computational astronomy and astrophysics with GPU computing as main computing resources. 1.
