Workshop on Joint Australian and Korean contributions to SKA - KASI, 24-28th Feb 2020
Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the Workshop on Joint Australian and Korean contributions to SKA, which will be held at KASI headquarters in Daejeon, on 24th to 28th February 2020.
The website can be found at http://ska.kasi.re.kr/Australia_Korea_2020/
Please note that this is a planning workshop, where participants are expected to help plan the technical developments of SKA capabilities (including ngVLA) and the science projects for future SKA involvement. As such the sessions on Mon-Tues and Thurs-Fri will be focused on discussion and planning, with less contributed talks. The topics for planning are: *Generating mock surveys from simulations, *Removing foreground from 21cm, *Cosmology with SKA, *Technical contributions to ngVLA, *Galaxy evolution in the LSS, *Machine learning, *Next generation methods, *SKA Pathfinders.
There will also be a ‘Presentation Day’ on Wednesday (26th), on which only contributed talks will be given, and will run as a more conventional science workshop. If you want to attend to hear about SKA development and Korean involvement, and possibly also give a science talk, but are unable to contribute to the planning sessions, please register for the Wednesday only.
All sessions will be accessible remotely, through zoom. If you can only attend remotely, please still register.
Regards, David Parkinson on behalf of the Scientific Organising Committee
