We are happy to host a workshop focused on quantum optics applications for development of gravitational-wave (GW) detection technology. Squeezing technique of quantum optics is being adopted to improve sensitivity of GW detectors based on large-scale laser interferometry such as LIGO, Virgo, and KAGRA. Also there are pioneering R&D activities seeking for possibilities of applying more advanced quantum optics technology such as quantum entanglement, non-demolition measurement, and quantum speed meter to the future 3rd generation (3G) GW detectors such as the Einstein Telescope.

The main purpose of the workshop is to discuss the recent progress in quantum optics technology and its possible applications for GW detectors. We would also like to share the latest R&D efforts on Virgo and Einstein Telescope in Europe with local scientific communities. We hope this workshop to be a good opportunity of forming a network of quantum optics researchers in Korea for GW applications and close collaborations with the experts in Europe.

This workshop is organized by KASI and Korean Gravitational Wave Group (KGWG).
