As with the state, Israel's astronomical community is small, but rapidly growing. Israeli astronomers play an important role in world-class astrophysics despite the lack of direct access to large observational facilities. This is accomplished by combining a high degree of creativity with synergetic collaborations. I will give a brief overview of the Israeli astronomical society, highlighting its most significant achievements and exciting upcoming opportunities. The talk will end with an invitation to join us on this promising journey.
