IGRINS is currently being operated at McDonald Observatory in Texas and Discovery Channel Telescope in Arizona, US. The successful candidate will be mostly based at the University of Texas, Austin and will visit the observatory where IGRINS is installed to attend the observing runs whenever Korean observing programs are scheduled (no more than once per month but subject to change). The candidate is expected to spend about 40% of his/her time for IGRINS observation-related duty, and about 60% to his/her own research. Any experience in high-resolution spectroscopy is preferred but not necessarily required. The candidate should be able to fluently communicate in written and verbal English/Korean and to drive with a valid driver’s license in US. K-GMT Science Group is in charge of science promotion and development for K-GMT Project at KASI, and is composed of six staff scientists and two postdoctoral researchers who value diversity and creativity with passion for science. For more information on K-GMT Science Group, please refer to our group web page: http://kgmt.kasi.re.kr/kgmtscience.
