First Announcement:

 

The first International Meeting on KAGRA will be held at Korea Institute for Science and Technology Information (KISTI, http://www.kisti.re.kr/eng) located in Daejon, Korea. This meeting is intended to promote more active collaboration among international community on KAGRA, and is open to all scientists who are interested in contributing to the KAGRA project.

 

Registration:

Please register at the meeting homepage by June 4, 2016. There will be a modest amount of registration fee of 100,000 Korean Won (approximately 90USD) to cover the cost of lunches and banquet dinner (on June 24). The fee will be collected during the meeting. Both cash and credit card are accepted.

The meeting will take place at KISTI located at Daejon, Korea

 

About Daejon:

Daejon is located nearly at the center of South Korea, and known as a science city since it hosts many of the national research laboratories and institutes. Please visit http://www.daejeon.go.kr/dre/index.do for more information on the city.

 

Travel:

From Incheon International Airport: 

Most of the international participants will arrive either Incheon International Airport (ICN, http://www.airport.kr/pa/en/a/index.jsp). From Incheon, the most convenient way to come to Daejon is to use the limousine buses which leave every 20-40 minutes.  It takes about 3 hours and 20 minutes to Daejon area. Another possibility is to take an express train (KTX) which takes to Daejon station directly from the Incheon International Airport. There are 8 daily departures: 06:55, 09:07, 12:07, 12:50, 16:30, 18:35, 20:35. It takes about 2 hours by express train.  To use the KTX train, please proceed to the train station which is about 5 minutes of walk from the airport terminal.

 

From Gimpo International Airport:

There is another international airport near the city center of Seoul, Gimpo International Airport (GMP), which has connections to and Beijing, Osaka, Taipei, and Tokyo. There are also buses directly going to Daejon, only 8 departures daily: 07:30, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00, 17:00, 18:50. 20:30.

Another way to Daejon is to use trains: there are frequent trains from Gimpo to Seoul Station. Then take KTX train (also other slow trains) at Seoul Station. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Seoul Station by KTX train.
