Workshop: Next Generation Sky Surveys and Big Data

Dear colleagues,

We are pleasant to announce a workshop
"Next Generation Sky Surveys and Big Data"
which will be held by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) from 25-29 April 2016 in Daejeon, Korea.

The workshop will be focused mainly on how future surveys and in particular LSST can help us solve challenging big problems in cosmology and astrophysics. Areas of special interest include the use of advanced statistical techniques and synergy between surveys sucah DESI, KMTNet, and SPHEREx.

The meeting also serves to boost and encourage engagement by the astronomy community in Korea and east Asia in preparation to deal with future big data.

We are also happy that both LSST Director Steve Kahn and LSST Deputy Director Beth Willman will attend.
